Recently, the appraisal meeting for Project "Development and Application of Key Preparation Technology of 6XXX Aluminum Alloy for Automotive Lightweighting with High Strength and Toughness and High Service Life", which is co-operated by Suzhou University, Shandong Hongqiao New Material Company, Weiqiao (Suzhou) Lightweighting Institute and Shandong Hongao Automobile Lightweighting Technology Company, was held in Wuhu, Anhui Province.

At the appraisal meeting, the expert group, after listening to the report, meeting evaluation, questioning and discussion, finally formed the evaluation conclusion that: the overall technology of the project has reached the international advanced level, in which the comprehensive performance of the 6-series aluminum alloy developed by the research and development has reached the international leading level, and it is recommended to accelerate the promotion and application.

The appraisal meeting was organized by China Society of Automobile Engineers. The achievement of the project has come into practice and production in Shandong Weiqiao Lightweight Material Company, Shandong Hongao Automobile Lightweight Technology Company.
